Obituary of Clara E. Chek
Clara E. “Bette” Chek, 88 died March 30, 2011. Bette was a lifetime resident of Hudson, a 1940 graduate of Hudson High School, was a member of the Western Reserve Christian Church and had been active in the 4 H Club of Hudson and the Summit County Saddle Horse Club. Bette was well known for her love and caring of injured and orphaned animals. She was also an avid Browns and Indians fan. She had worked for American Fireworks, Dick Myers (Fire Chief of Hudson) and Rich Prentice Auto as their bookkeeper.
Preceded in death by her husband of 50 years Steve L. Chek, parents Frank Loomis and Florence (Nonnie) Loomis-Groff , son Steve and sister Eveline Searcy, she is survived by daughter Vicki (Dave) Rarrick, grandchildren Kristin Schlessner, Mandy Stahl and great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, Michael (Kelly) Searcy, Brian (Kim) Searcy and Sharon (Jim) McNeil.
Friends are invited to the Redmon Funeral Home for visitation Sunday from 1 to 4 PM. Pastor Bob Hutson will conduct service Monday 11 AM at the Western Reserve Christian Church, 516 W. Streetsboro Street, Hudson 44236. Interment Markillie Cemetery. Should friends desire memorials may be made to the Western Reserve Christian Church Building Fund.
