Obituary of David T. Lanum

TALLMADGE – Rev. David T. Lanum, 63, went home to be with the Lord on January 27, 2011. Born in Akron, he was a lifetime area resident, a graduate of Tallmadge High School and a US Army veteran of Vietnam. Rev. Lanum attended Massillon Baptist College and served as pastor for 27 years of Mission Baptist Temple in Stow. His life verse was, "But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.”  Isaiah 40:31 KJV Preceded in death by his sisters Patty Ward and Sandy Phillips and brother Andy Lanum, he is survived by his childhood sweetheart and wife of 44 years, Joan; son William Lanum, son and daughter-in-law Michael and Angie Lanum, and granddaughters Brittany and Abbigail. Rev. Bob Fleming, pastor at Emmanuel Baptist Church and Rev. Ryan Gilin, associate pastor at Mission Baptist Temple, will conduct services Tuesday 10:30 AM at Mission Baptist Temple, 4163 Kent Road, Stow 44224 where visitation will be held Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM, and on Tuesday from 9:30 AM until service time. Burial Ohio Western Reserve National  Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the church.
