Obituary of Elwood J. Kline

CUYAHOGA FALLS – Elwood J. Kline, 81, died January 12, 2011. A lifetime area resident, he was a member of the Ohio Edison Men’s Club and the Northampton Grange Society. Elwood was a decorated combat veteran, proudly serving his country in the Army during the Korean Conflict and was also a member of the VFW. A lifelong athlete, he played minor league baseball, semi-pro hockey and was a stock car driver in his early years. Elwood enjoyed bowling and playing softball for the Senior Softball Silver League of Akron. Mr. Kline was a generous man who cared for his friends, family and churches. Preceded in death by his brother Kenneth, he is survived by sons Kevin (Mary) of Grove City and Perry (Marilyn) of Cuyahoga Falls; grandchildren Andrew, Nathan, Jacob, Philip, Sarah and Christian; sisters Mary Charlotte Hostvedt of Pennsylvania and Ruth Bailey of Stow, and a host of other relatives and friends. Friends are invited to Redmon Funeral Home for visitation Sunday 2 to 5 PM. Funeral service will be held Monday 10 AM at Word of His Grace Fellowship, 110 E. Steels Corners Road, Cuyahoga Falls. Burial at Northampton Cemetery, where military graveside service will be conducted. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Word of His Grace Fellowship.
