Obituary of Esther Belle Walk

Esther Belle (Shaffer) Walk passed away peacefully on January 3, 2011. Born in Brookville, PA in 1934, she lived in Streetsboro for many years before moving to Stow.  Beside her family, Esther enjoyed her “Mermaid” friends at the Nat, her painting buddies at Jack’s Studio and was an inspiration to all she met.  Otherwise known as “Esther Belle the Country Clown”, she amazed young and old with her face painting and balloon characters.  As a home health aide and later a hospice volunteer, she fulfilled her desire to make a difference.  As an artist she was able to put her visions on canvas for the enjoyment of others.  This truly amazing woman loved her family, friends and people in general.  She will be missed by all. Besides her parents, Esther was preceded in death by her husband Don E. Walk, brother James Shaffer and granddaughters Sonya and Rachel.  She is survived by daughters Lois Brandt, Lory Shepper and Lona (Robert) Gless, 6 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and brother George Shaffer. Pastor James Walk will conduct memorial service Friday, January 7th at 11 AM at Redmon Funeral Home, where friends may call beginning at 10:00 AM.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hospice of VNS, 3358 Ridgewood Road, Fairlawn, OH 44333.
