Obituary of Marvin D. Weber

Marvin D. Weber, 80, of Stow, died December 31, 2010 after complications from heart surgery. Marvin was born in Ackley, Iowa on January 20, 1930 to the late Reuben and Hattie Janssen Weber. Marvin attended Iowa State University and graduated in 1951 with a General Engineering degree. He spent the next four years in Germany with the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged as a 2nd lieutenant. He was hired in 1954 by the Quincy, Illinois-based Electric Wheel Company - which eventually was purchased by Firestone's Steel Products Division. He met and married Harriet Lampe in Quincy and they remained in Quincy until 1982 when Firestone sold that company and moved them to Akron. They bought a home in Stow, where they remained. In 1984 Marvin and Harriet started a Kwik Kopy Printing franchise which now operates as Print Digital, Inc. Marvin was heavily involved with the Stow-Munroe Falls Chamber of Commerce, the Stow-Munroe Falls Rotary Club, the Stow Republican Club, and was an active member of the Hudson Community Chapel. He was able to fulfill a lifelong wish of working "until the day he died." Marvin was preceded in death by his wife Harriet and is survived by his sons Tim (Michelle) of Mascoutah, Illinois and Eric (Lauran) of Bath, Ohio, sister Verlyn (Robert) Dentel of Arizona; nine grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews and his dear friend Joyce Justice of Tallmadge, Ohio. Pastor Roland Coffey will conduct services Monday 8 PM at Redmon Funeral Home, where friends are invited to visit from 4 PM until time of service. Private burial Tuesday at Silver Springs Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Rotary Foundation, PO Box 1352, Stow, OH 44224.  Marvin's video tribute may be seen here.
