Obituary of Leona Casey
Leona (Lee) Casey, 85, died Dec. 1, 2010. Born in Parma, she had been a resident of Stow 52 years. Her memberships include First United Methodist Church of Cuyahoga Falls, Garden Forum of Greater Akron, Garden Club of Ohio (Life member), Stow Womans’ Club, Akron Woman’s City Club where she sang in the chorus, Stan Hywet Hall and Gardens and Friends of Stow-Munroe Falls Library. She loved her family, flowers, birds, and all the people she met.
Preceded in death by her husband Jack; parents, John and Edith Turek; brothers, Vernon and Melvin Turek; brother-in-law Terry Barton (sp ?); and close friend, Lynn C. Slaby, Sr.; she is survived by brother, Jack (Hazel) Turek; sisters, Alberta (Ray) Taylor and Edith Ann Barton, all of the Medina area; sister-in-law, Pat Turek; nieces, Dianne Taylor of New York, Elaine Taylor of Seville, Barbara (Dennis) Switter of Medina, Bonnie (Mark) Mettetal of St. Petersburg, FL, Connie (Terry) Marsh of Medina, Loni (Jeff) Johnson of Westfield, OH and Linda (Joe) Reedy of W. Va.; nephew, Robert John (Anessa) Turek of Medina; 5 great-nieces; 5 great-nephews; 2 great-great nephews; 3 great-great nieces , and her little dog Abbey.
Friends are invited to Redmon Funeral Home for visitation Sunday from 2-5 PM. Rev. Dr. David A. Baker will conduct services at First United Methodist Church of Cuyahoga Falls, 245 Portage Trail on Monday at 10:30 AM. Burial at Rose Hill Burial Park.
