Obituary of Mary Ellen Kelley

SILVER LAKE- Mary Ellen Kelley passed away into the arms of her Savior, Jesus, Friday, November 26, 2010. Mary was born in Harleton, PA, September  8, 1909, came to Akron in 1929 and made her home in Silver Lake since 1942. Mary was a loving and gracious woman with a strong work ethic.  In her early years she was a secretary for General Tire Co.  She enjoyed sewing, flower arranging, crafts, bridge and golf, and being with her family and friends.  Her Silver Lake activities included Wagmong Social Club, Grandmother’s Club, Flower Craft Club, the Garden Club, the Martha Mary Guild and the Silver Lake Country Club, where she was a charter member.  She was also a past member of St. Thomas Hospital’s Auxiliary Board, a past member of the Summit County Children’s Home Board, and a volunteer in the New and Nearly New Shop.  She attended Redeemer Lutheran Church and enjoyed Bible Study and especially the Portals of Prayer. She was preceded in death by her parents George and Elizabeth Musser, her loving husband Clarence, son Richard and grandson Bruce.  She is survived by her son David (Maryann); daughter Susan (Gary) Weiss; grandchildren Lori Kelley Sachs (Ian), Anne Matthisen (Sean), Richard (Becky) Weiss, Aaron (Elizabeth) Weiss, Sarah Weiss; great-grandchildren Zachary and Elliot Matthisen, Brooklyn and Hunter Weiss; brother Richard Musser and special friends Linda Arment and Ginny Jones. The family is especially grateful to her loving care-giving family: Sharon Peterson, Voncile Millender Cook, Dee Taylor, Sue Wiseman, Gerry Millender, Penny Robinson, Betsy Tausch, Stephanie Kneram and Lynn Walter, and to her Grace Hospice nurse, Suzanne. Friends are invited to Redmon Funeral Home for visitation Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM.  Pastor Keith Johnson will conduct service Wednesday 11 AM at Redeemer Lutheran Church,   2141 – 5th Street, Cuyahoga Falls 44221.  Burial Oakwood Cemetery.  Should friends desire, memorials may be made to the church.
