Obituary of John Schadl
John Schadl celebrated his 92nd birthday by going home to be with his Lord and Savior on November 1, 2010.
Born in Akron, he played football for, and graduated from South High School, was a US Navy veteran of World War II and had retired as a plant manager from Standard Mold. A participant in the Senior Olympics, John also worked as a fitness instructor with the Akron Jewish Center, the Coliseum and for the Cuyahoga Falls Natatorium, retiring at the age of 90. ,John was a longtime member of The Chapel where he had served as an usher.
He is survived by his wife of 72 years Donna; son Michael (Dottie) of Medina Co.; daughter Jill (Ken) Saeger of Louisville; grandchildren Suzanne, Jon and Tom Schadl, Kevin and Mark Saeger, Phil, Amy and Tammy; 12 great-grandchildren.
The family would like to express their appreciation to Senior Independence Hospice and their staff members Ethel, Heather, Colleen, Bob , Linda and Luanne for their compassionate care of John.
Friends are invited to Redmon Funeral Home for visitation Friday 1 to 4 PM, and to a service Saturday 12 noon conducted by Pastor Bob Linsz. Burial Greenlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Senior Independence Hospice, 1815 W. Market St., Suite 303, Akron 44313.
