Obituary of George M. Leipold
George, age 79, joined his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on October 27, 2010. Celebrating his life are Darlene, wife of 59 years; children Dennis (Sue), Ken (Denise) and Shelly (Tom); grandchildren Ben (Kelly), Kim (Matt), Andy (Amanda), Jennifer (James), Danny (Mary Kate), Heather, Craig and Adam; great-grandchildren Landon, Lyndsie, Logan, Dylan, Becca, James, Austin and Ava; sister Alice.
George was a Christian (Romans 6:23) and was a member of Northampton Bible Church. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy and was a Lieutenant and EMT on the Northampton Volunteer Fire Department. He worked for Reuther Mold and the family business, Leipold Tire Co. George enjoyed camping, building furniture, and the challenge of fixing anything.
In 1955, George and Darlene, with their own hands, built the house together that they turned into their family’s home. He loved his family dearly, lived and taught us faith, character, humility, honesty, integrity and hard work.
Our family is grateful to Dr. Koenig and his staff, the Summa Oncology Department, and Summa Hospice for their loving care.
Friends are invited to Redmon Funeral Home for visitation on Sunday, October 31, 2010 from 4 to 8 PM, and to Northampton Bible Church (333 W. Steels Corners Road, Cuyahoga Falls) for our Memorial Celebration on Monday, November 1, 2010 at 11 AM.
Rather than flowers, the family would appreciate any memorial gifts be made to Northampton Bible Church in memory of George. Mr. Leipold's video tribute may be seen here.
