Obituary of Rick Matvey
STOW – Rick Matvey, 57, died October 18, 2010.
Born in Akron, Rick had a passion for cars, baseball, fishing and model trains. He loved spending time tinkering around the house and especially in his garage, where he greeted many friends over the years. His family meant the world to him. We will miss him so much. Rick’s family wishes to extend heartfelt thanks to so many who have been a source of support, friends and family for meals and prayers, and the staff at Visiting Nurse Service for their professional care and personal touch. Please know that you are all in our daily prayers of thanks. God bless you all.
Rick was preceded in death by his father Paul and is survived by his wife Barb, daughter Kendra Matvey, sons Jamie and Paul, mother Ann, sisters Nancy Thomas, Janice (Dennis) Woods, Denise (George) Dieter and brother Paul Matvey.
Rev. Jonathan Rumburg will conduct service Thursday 7 PM at Redmon Funeral Home, where friends may call from 4 PM until service time. In his memory, and to raise funds for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, Rick's daughter Kendra will be running in a half marathon. Therefore, memorials may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and left at the funeral home or given to Kendra.
