Obituary of Georgia Holley

Georgia J. “Jo” Holley, 80, died August 30, 2010.  Born in Clermont County, Ky., she had lived in the area most of her life and was a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church of Cuyahoga Falls where she taught Sunday School for many years.  She retired from O’Neil’s Dept. store in 1989 with 18 years service, had been a Den Mother for Cub Scouts, a Girl Scout leader and was active in the Woodland PTA.  Jo loved gardening and had over 100 rose bushes. Preceded in death by her parents, John and Cora Brown Harlow; sisters, Victoria Fowler and Pocahontas Harlow and brother, Delbert Harlow, and her aunt and uncle who raised her, Ollie and Esther Brown; she is survived by her husband, John; daughter, Mary Coleman, Boardman, OH ; sons, John C. (Tina) of Crown Point, Ind. and James W. of Williamsfield, OH; grandchildren, Travis, Holly and Daniel Coleman, Rachael, Mark and Thom Holley; great-grandchildren, Hannah, Graham and Becca; sister, Beatrice Hardin of Harrodsburg, KY.; special friends, Melissa and Gerald Sink and their daughters Jenna and Emily of Kent.  The family would like to give sincere thanks to Amy and Jennifer from Hospice of Summa for their loving care of Jo. Friends may call 2-4 & 7-9 PM Thursday at Redmon Funeral Home where Pastor Jim Case will conduct services at 11 AM Friday.  Burial at Silver Springs Cemetery.  The family suggests memorials be made to Hospice of Summa, P.O. Box 2090, Akron 44398-9976.
