Obituary of Jack L. Hager
Jack L. Hager, 92, passed away on June 3, 2010.
Born in Akron, he retired from Ohio Bell Telephone in 1980 with 36 years of service. Jack served his country in the Army Air Force during World War II, and spent time as a POW. He was a graduate of Cuyahoga Falls High School, and a lifelong member of the United Presbyterian Church of Cuyahoga Falls. He was a longtime member of Silver Lake Country Club, and was also active with many other social clubs and organizations, including the Star Lodge #187 F&AM. Throughout Jack's life he was always willing to give of his time, as he coached youth basketball and baseball for many years. He was also an avid Ohio State fan, and attended football games on a regular basis.
He touched many lives over the years and will be missed by those who were fortunate to call him a friend.
Preceded in death by his first wife, Sara, of 56 years, both mother and father, brother (William), sister (Viola), he is survived by wife, Annegret; sons, Richard (Joyce) Hager and Robert Hager; and grandsons, Jeff and Kevin.
Friends may call at the Redmon Funeral Home Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Rev. Ross Slaughter will conduct service Wednesday, 10 a.m. at the United Presbyterian Church of Cuyahoga Falls, 2819 Hudson Drive, Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44221. Interment at Chestnut Hill Memorial Park, where military service will be conducted by American Legion Post 281.
