Obituary of Alexander E. Teodosio

Attorney Alexander E. Teodosio, passed away peacefully on February 10, 2015 surrounded by his loving wife Anna Marie, and his family.              Al was born to parents Rose (Battaglia) and Alexander Teodosio on March 21, 1924 in Beacon Falls, Connecticut.  He spent most of his years growing up in Derby, Connecticut as the youngest of nine children.  He graduated from Derby High School in 1942 and immediately joined the U.S Army Air Forces where he served as a Staff Sergeant in the South Pacific during World War II.  Following the end of the war and his honorable discharge from the service, he returned to his hometown of Derby, Connecticut and met the love of his life- Anna Marie Tiano at a local dance.  He attended New York University and then continued on to Brooklyn Law School where he received his Juris Doctorate. While in law school, he and Anna Marie were married and began their life together.    Al graduated from law school as the senior class president and went on to pass both the New York and Ohio Bar Exams in consecutive years.   Following his licensure, he and his wife Anna moved to Akron, Ohio and began their family.  He joined his oldest brother Ernest Teodosio in the practice of law in the law firm of Teodosio & Teodosio and was asked to serve as Assistant Attorney General during this time.   His career and family continued to blossom and grow as Al expanded his interests to include Summit County politics.  He served as Chairman of the Summit County Democratic Party from 1976 until 1990. Al was twice named Democrat of the Year for the Summit County Democratic Party and Democrat of the Year for the Ohio Democratic Party in 1983.  He retired from the law firm of Teodosio, Cherpas, Manos and Ward.  Following his retirement, he enjoyed spending winters in Florida with his wife and many friends.     Al was a member of the Akron and Ohio State Bar Associations and served as President of the Holy Name Society.  He was also a member of the Sons of Italy, Toastmasters and Knights of Columbus. Al was an avid tennis player, and enjoyed carpentry, bowling, dancing and talking politics.   Al was a true inspiration to all that knew and loved him.  He mentored many young lawyers and professionals who he helped start their careers. However, nothing was more important to Al than spending time with family.  He was proud of his children and grandchildren and celebrated each of their accomplishments. His wife was truly the love of his life and he treasured spending time with family during Sunday afternoon dinners.   Al was preceded in death by his parents, siblings, son Alan, granddaughter Andrea and is survived by his loving wife of nearly 65 years, Anna Marie, children Mary Anne (Bill) Cort, Thomas (Linda), Carol Anne (David) Peter, Robert  (Tina), Alex (Stephanie); grandchildren Christine Klaben, Kathleen Marie Klaben, Joseph (Melissa) Cort, Christopher (Katherine) Teodosio, David Cort, Lexi Teodosio, Nicholas Teodosio, Joseph Teodosio and Ellen and Alice Karns. He is also survived by many close friends and colleagues, who knew him as “The Silver Fox.”   Calling hours will be Friday, February 13th from 3 – 8 PM at Holy Family Parish in Stow, where Mass of the Christian Burial will be held on Saturday at 11 AM.  Entombment will follow at All-Saints Cemetery in Northfield, with military honors provided by the United States Army.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of Visiting Nurse Service, St. Anthony of Padua or Holy Family Parish.
