Obituary of John Franklin Willett

CUYAHOGA FALLS -- John F. Willett passed away February 21, 2015. He was born on April 10, 1933 and graduated from St. Vincent High school in 1951 and the University of Akron with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, after serving in the Army Security Agency during the Korean War. He was married to Mary “Eleanor” (Gabelman) for 59 years, was a member of IHM Chapel in Akron, and a tax accountant and retiree of Goodyear Tire. “Jack” was a devoted husband, grandfather and great grandfather. He was preceded in death by his parents Lena and Oscar; siblings Dean, Margaret (Clute), Ralph, Sylvia (Jones). Surviving siblings are Kenneth (Janice) Richard (Nancy) and Hattie Berry, & many nieces and nephews. He leaves behind his children, James (Carolyn), Robert (Melissa), Julie (David Genender), Kathleen (Stephen Redle); grandchildren Clarece, Jack, Evelyn, Eloise, Sara (Dave Pinkerton), Shanon, Michael, Daniel (Stephanie), Julie (Nicholas Meluch), Thomas, Ann, David , Shanon & Emily Francis; step grandchild Ian Alexander; great grandchildren Aiden & Ethan Pinkerton. Requiem High Latin Mass will be held at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Chapel, 2935 Chenoweth Drive, Akron, 44312 on Wednesday at 10:30 AM. Calling hours will be held at the Redmon Funeral Home, 3633 Darrow Road, Stow 44224 on Tuesday from 5 to 8 PM. Rosary service will be held Tuesday 7:30 PM at the Funeral Home. Interment Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to IHM Chapel so that traditional Latin Masses may be said for John’s soul.
