Obituary of Shirley J. Crosier
Shirley Crosier, 79 of Stow, passed away peacefully at home, her family surrounding her with love on May 4, 2015.
In her youth, she enjoyed roller skating and passed that love on to her family. With her children she was involved in 4-H and Girl Scouts as a leader. Shirley was co-owner of Crosier Trenching Service and Gateway Fireplace. She enjoyed many trips to Kodiak, Alaska with her husband for vacations to relax at their vacation home. She was an avid seamstress and enjoyed cooking especially what she grew in her garden. She loved to can and make elderberry jelly. The Food Network was a constant in the home for the last 15 years. There was always a deck of cards around as she enjoyed many games of gin rummy, poker and solitaire.
Shirley was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is preceded in death by mother Frances Smith, in-laws Stanley and Flora Crosier, grandsons Andy Crosier and Spencer Crosier. She will be missed by her loving husband of 62 years, Jim Crosier; her children Debbi (Don) Myers of Kansas City, MO, Terry (Leanne) Crosier of Stow, Bob (Diane) Crosier of Shalersville, Becki Crosier of Kent and Nancy Crosier, also of Kent; grandchildren, Troy (Holly) Robertson of O'Fallon, MO, Stacy (Jeff) Thompson of Louisburg, NC, Jenn (Chris) Shanley of Stow, Tommy (Stephanie) Pritchard of El Paso, TX, Caitlin Crosier, Connor Crosier and Reese Crosier, all of Stow; great-grandchildren Zach, Ethan, Cole and Kira and her half-siblings, John (Karen) Smith, Marge Sharp; and Frank Smith.
The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to Professional Nursing Services for their compassionate care and special love for Shirley, and to the Stow Fire and Rescue squads for all your help and care over the last several years.
