Edward "Ozzie" Brisbin

Obituary of Edward "Ozzie" Brisbin

Edward “Ozzie” Brisbin, 77, passed peacefully in the early morning hours of Tuesday, April 21, 2015. Ozzie was preceded in death by his parents, Wilbur and Sarah “Dessie” Brisbin, and his two brothers, Robert and James. Born April 9, 1938, in Holidays Cove, West Virginia, Ozzie was raised in Stow, Ohio. He was a resident of Stillwater, Oklahoma, for the past 30 years. Ozzie was a self-made businessman, owning and operating several businesses throughout his life in Ohio, Florida and Oklahoma. Whether sitting around a card table or playing a round of golf, Ozzie enjoyed the company of friends and family. He always had a story to share that would put a smile on your face, and he was never bashful about using a colorful phrase. He enjoyed giving endless “advice” to anyone who would listen, never officially retiring as a “boss.” Ozzie was a classic car collector with such gems as a ’56 Thunderbird that he completely restored and sold at a Barrett-Jackson auction. His playful spirit will certainly be missed by his family. He is survived by his wife, Kima of Stillwater Oklahoma; daughter, Autumn of Stow; stepdaughter, Crystal Hewitt (Jimmy) of Arkansas; stepson, Randolph Brauer of Georgia; grandchildren, Lyndsey Orwig and Bradley Greathouse of Stow. Step-grandchildren Kyleen and Colton Hewitt of Arkansas; great-grandson, Landon Orwig of Stow; brothers, David (Sandy) of Vermont, Willie of Virginia, sisters Janet Edwards of Cuyahoga Falls, Judi (Ed) Lint of Stow, sister-in-law, Susan Brisbin of Stow; and many nieces and nephews. Dr. Don Lichi will conduct service Saturday 5 PM at Redmon Funeral Home, where friends may call from 2 PM until service time.
