Obituary of Marie E. Wacker

MARIE E. (SWARTZ) WACKER Marie E. (Swartz) Wacker, 90, passed away June 1, 2015. Marie and her husband, Clarence, who passed on July 25, 2006, shared a beautiful married life of almost 59 years. They will both be remembered for their love for each other and their love of music and dancing. They enjoyed ballroom, square and round dancing their entire life together. They also spent 17 winters in Arizona dancing and enjoying the lifestyle there very much. Marie graduated from North High School and then worked as a lab technician at Firestone for 18 years. Marie also worked as a research technician at General Tire’s Research and Development Center for 20 years. Marie and Clarence retired at the same time and enjoyed their retirement life very much. Marie and Clarence were 50 year residents of Cuyahoga Falls before residing at Mulberry Gardens Assisted Living the last few years of their lives. Marie and Clarence were members of First United Methodist Church of Cuyahoga Falls and Marie was a member of the Generettes. Marie was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence; parents, Ray and Daisy Swartz; and brother, Don (Lois) Swartz. She is survived by nieces, Bonnie (Bob) Paulson, Annabelle (Jim) Mohler, Lori (Mike) Ciocco; nephews, Donn Swartz and Corey Wacker; special friend Ray Hamlin and his children and grandchildren who were her “second family”; great nieces; and her many good friends at Mulberry Gardens. “To all my relatives and friends, until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of His hand.” Friends are invited to Redmon Funeral Home for visitation Thursday 5 to 8 PM, where Pastor Jim Case will conduct funeral service Friday at 11 AM. Interment Chestnut Hill Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a favorite charity.
