Obituary of Thomas D. Tobin

Thomas D. Tobin, 92, peacefully entered eternal rest on Sunday June 14, 2015. Born in Akron, he was a Cuyahoga Falls resident for 65 years and had retired from Firestone Tire & Rubber Co. after 40 years of service. Mr. Tobin was a longtime member of Redeemer Lutheran Church and an avid golfer. Preceded in death by his daughter Nancy Stoffer and great-grandson Matthew Twigg, he is survived by his wife of 72 years Christina; children Linda Peters, Donald (Becky) Tobin and Alan (Lisa) Tobin; 9 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-granddaughter and sister Patricia McDonald. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to those family members who took great care of him these last 9 months, especially Granddaughter Kimm Steinwedel. We would also like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Summa Hospice Care for their love and compassion, especially Kari, Michelle, and Jim. Pastors Keith Johnson and Ryan Honeycutt will officiate the service on Thursday, June 18th, at Noon at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 2141 – 5th Street, Cuyahoga Falls 44221, and friends may call from 11am until service time. Interment will follow immediately after the service at Northlawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Redeemer Christian School, where many of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren attended.
