Obituary of Judith H. Cox

Judith H. Cox passed quietly Thursday afternoon June 18, 2015 at Akron City Hospital. Judy is survived by her sons Steven and Kevin and grandchildren Teresa, Cynthia, Alexander, and Jacob. Judy was born in Newark, New Jersey October 5, 1926. She graduated from Muskingum College in 1947 and later resumed her education at Kent State University where she earned a Master’s in Theatre in 1967. Judy retired from Goodwill Industries of Akron, Ohio after 21 years of dedicated service. She was extremely generous with her time and volunteered for many local non-profits. Judy was an active member of the Stow Community Church, a volunteer usher at E. J. Thomas Hall, and a past president of the local chapter of Altrusa International where she gave over 20 years of service. Judy loved the theatre and had a life-long passion for poetry, plays, writing, and classical music. She also enjoyed hiking, reading, and solving crossword puzzles. There will be a celebration of Judy’s life at 2 p.m. on Sunday, June 21 at the Stow Community Church, 1567 Pilgrim Drive, Stow, OH 44224.
