Husband, father, mentor, influential, leader, smart, kind, considerate, tough, giving, loving, passionate, god fearing, pastor. All could be used to describe my uncle, Kenneth Tharp. When my father deserted us he jumped in and helped my mom with her 4 children. He taught me how to be a man. I wish my wife and children could've known him better, he made a lasting impression in their handful of meetings. In my uncle's last day's on earth he was worried about his wife not his life, still the greatest man in the room. My Aunt Wilma asked my mom, "Where are all the Kenny's in the world"? He is alive and well inside of me, I will strive to be more like my uncle Kenny.

I never imagined how hard it would be since the passing of my Uncle Kenny and know things will never be the same without him around. I was so happy that he got to dedicate my boys, Nicholas and Michael, after they were born. knowing how happy he was and how much it meant to me. I'll never forget how excited I was when I got to listen to him teach bible class at Buckeye Lake, and was so proud to say he was my uncle. I will miss you so much Uncle Kenny and know you will be in Heaven watching over us along with "mother", Sister Rasnake. You will never leave our hearts. Luv you always, Tonya.

Shirley and I are very saddened to learn of Bro. Tharp's passing. My mother and dad were long time members of his church. When we visited them in Cuyahoga Falls, we would visit his church in Stow. He always made us feel welcome and greeted us with open arms. We loved to listen to his preaching and teaching. He was one of the best.
The world has lost a great man. We send our heartfelt
condolences to the family. We will keep you in our prayers.
May God bless and help you in this time of sorrow.

I am very saddened to hear my favorite pastor has passed away, I have many fond memories of going to church there [ my first church ] I came out of a life as an alcoholic, and walked into that little church and heard brother tharps teaching and the music , and I knew I would never be the same again , that was 34 years ago, I have a rest home ministry and still draw from the well of brother tharps teaching, the first sermon I recall was streams in the desert, I loved him and his wifes singing also, I hope we can have church again around jesus throne someday , and sing the chorus , the family of god, once again.

Dear Sister Wilma, Vicki, & family
Bro. Tharp baptized me in Jesus' name at the age of 6 yrs. I
grew in God's light and Bro. Tharp preached the sermon about Jacob climbing the ladder to see God on the night I received the Holy Ghost as evidenced by God's Holy Language at the age of 8 yrs. Little did I know at those tender years how much I was going to need to know where and how to find God throughout my entire life. I praise & thank God for your ministry. I pray God's peace & comfort be with you during this time of sorrow. Leah.

Dear Sis Tharp,
Rosiey and I were extremely saddened when we got the news that Pastor Tharp had passed away. We will never forget all that he and yourself invested in us. Over the past 20 years, we have been in over 40 nations. The foundation Pastor gave us enabled us to fulfill our calling. Pastor Tharp was without question one the best bible teachers I've ever been privileged to sit under. We are eternally grateful. Please know we have prayed for you during this time of loss, and will continue to pray for you and the entire family.
Forever Thankful,
Joe & Rosiey Ellis

Daddy,
I can never begin to express my love for you! You were so full of love for your family always making sure we were taken care of before you. You even showed that as you are dying. You planned out your whole funeral to try and spare us. When you were pastoring you always had time for anyone that needed you. You were a substitute father to those who didn't have one. You are so compassionate and forgiving to those in need. Always visiting the sick and elderly. My daughter had to write an essay on her hero and age wrote about you. And in there she said "everyone loves my grandpa". Daddy I love and miss you so much. My hear aches but I knots you aren't in pain any longer. You are most definitely my hero! I love you!

My Uncle Kenny is the most wonderful person I know. I was blessed to have him as my pastor & fortunate that he was also my uncle. When I was 5 yrs old I was diagnosed with a life threatening kidney disease. I was prayed for by my uncle & healed by God.
Some of the best years of my life were my childhood years growing up in the church my Aunt Wilma & Uncle Kenny established in Stow,Ohio. They made everything extra special, the services& all the activities at the youth center.
I will never forget all the family memories I have of him. One of my fondest memories was him taking me car shopping every time I needed a car, he worked on getting me the best deal possible. He was so passionate about every aspect of his life.
Even though he was my uncle, I thought of him more as my father. I am so thankful I got to be there with him in his final days.He still had his sense of humor & loving way. I am so happy he is in heaven now with his parents & my grandmother.
Forever in my heart!

My Uncle Kenny is the greatest man I know. He had endless compassion, love, kindness & unwavering dedication to spreading God's word & making the world a better place.
I cannot find adequate words to express everything Uncle Kenny was to me. There was never a problem he couldn't solve, as small as turning the audience lights out for his nervous niece's choir solo, to filling in for an absent father, or deciding what to do when your future in-laws get lost on the way to the church on your wedding day? Ironically, my husband & I talked about asking Uncle Kenny to renew our vows for our 20 year wedding anniversary this Dec, but I didn't get the chance. I did get the chance, however, to hold his hand at his bedside and tell him how much I loved him and how much he meant to me. I rubbed his forehead, let him know we were there for him & would be by his side like he was for so many people his entire life.
I am so proud to call Rev K.L. Tharp my uncle & he will forever be my hero.

Rev. Tharp was an outstanding and dedicated servant for the Lord. He was there for anyone in need, whether it was for elderly neighbors who needed their lawns mowed or someone who just needed to talk. As my sister said to me in the hospital, "Where are the Kennys in the world?" I believe we can all learn from his example.
As a husband to the best sister in the world, Wilma, he was the most loving and caring man I know. They had a love and marriage that most of us will never experience in our lifetimes.
As a brother-in-law, Kenny was the best. He did so much for me and my children. There will never be anyone else like him. We will miss him so much! Doris

Uncle Kenny will be deeply missed. He was like a father figure to me, Terri, Tamara and Sidney. He was always willing to help anyone even without asking. I don't know of another minister who would drive the church van to pick up families for church. I love you very much Uncle Kenny.
