Obituary of Harry Robert Boston

Harry Robert Boston (Bob), 90, went home to be with his heavenly Father on June 28, 2015. Born in Akron to Harry S. and Susie (Roush) Boston on October 30, 1924. He graduated from South High School in 1943 , he served his country in the U.S. Army from December 1943 to March 1946, and retired from the C. L. Gougler Co. in 1986 with 36 years of service. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a member of Tallmadge Wesleyan Methodist Church and was involved in many church activities, including serving as a Sunday school teacher, singing in the King’s Trio of Akron for 17 years and assisting in the building of three churches. Bob was preceded in death by daughters Virginia Jeffries and Patricia Haddix, his first wife, Geraldine (Ripple) Boston and sister Ethel Balding. He is survived by his wife Bessie; sons William (Karen) and Glenn (Debbi) Boston; 5 step-children; 28 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; brothers Charles and Jerry and many nieces and nephews. Friends are invited to the Redmon Funeral Home for visitation Wednesday from 2 to 4 & 6 to 8 PM. Rev. Steve Haddix and Rev. Daniel Giles will conduct service Thursday 1:00 PM at Southeast Church of the Nazarene, 771 Dunbar Road, Tallmadge 44278, where friends may call from 12 noon until time of service. Interment Greenlawn Memorial Park with military honors provided by the U.S. Army.
