Obituary of Paul D. Glasgow
STOW - Paul Glasgow, born June 19, 1964, passed away after a short illness on June 28, 2015.
He was a graduate of Cuyahoga Falls High School and The University of Akron and lived in the area all of his life.
Paul began his career at The B.F. Goodrich Company and continued for 17 years in various roles including technical service, marketing and sales. He held the position of Sales Manager at Stemaco USA for 11 years and most recently was the U.S. Marketing and Technical Manager for Rogitex International.
Paul was an important leader in the rubber industry. Since 2007, he was a member of the American Chemical Society - Rubber Division. He was currently serving on the Board of Directors and as an Executive Committee Member. He served in numerous positions with several rubber and plastics groups, including New England, Fort Wayne, Blue Ridge, Southern and Ohio Rubber Groups.
Paul had a unique ability to build strong personal friendships with customers, co-workers and suppliers. His cheerful enthusiasm was contagious, whether he was pursuing sales prospects, organizing rubber shows, or coordinating golf outings. Because of his commitment and dedication to the future of the rubber industry and generosity of his time, he was respected by all who knew him.
Preceded in death by his father Phillip, he will be greatly missed by his wife of 25 years, Lori; children, Seth, Lainie and Jeremy; mother, Joyce; brothers and sisters, Iris (Ray) Para, Zeke (Candy), Ken (Pat), Kathy (Greg Raies) Priebe, and Beth; mother-in-law, Mary Macko; brothers and sisters-in-law, Patty (Stan) Miller, Terri Leporis, Ronnie (Shari) Macko, Ed Macko, Rick Macko, Mary Renick, Dorothy (Dave) Roth, and Angie (Paul) Radvansky; other extended family, including aunts, uncles, cousins, numerous nieces and nephews, many of whom lovingly refer to him as Uncle Buck, and many friends.
Paul's highest priority was his family. He was a very dedicated and loving husband and father. Paul enjoyed the time he spent coaching his sons' basketball teams, participating in scouting activities, watching sporting events, and attending the annual Father Daughter Girl Scout dance with his daughter. His love and pride for his children was endless.
In his spare time, Paul could be found riding his tractor, golfing, enjoying family gatherings, camping, laughing at The Three Stooges, watching/reading the news, engaging in political discussions, and especially coming up with his next joke or prank.
