Obituary of Nathaniel Jacob Blasdel

Nathaniel Jacob (Nate) Blasdel, 35, of Akron, Ohio, passed away on 7/4/15 in Akron, Ohio. Nate was born in Canton, Ohio to Diana Sourbrine and Stephen Blasdel on 10/31/79. He went to high school at Hoover and graduated in 1998. He went on to earn a degree in Chemical Engineering from The University of Akron. He worked as a teacher’s assistant and researcher at the University and he was two months away from receiving his PhD. He published multiple scientific articles and was working on a research project that would benefit amputees. Even with all this he still enjoyed time spent with family and friends. Nate is survived by his wife, Christen; grandmothers, Clara Sourbrine and Betty Blasdel; parents, Diana L. Wireman (Tim), Stephen Blasdel; mother-in-law, Deborah Jones (Alan); father-in-law, Charles Salter (Joanie); sister, Audrey (Rob) and many more in-laws, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. He is preceded in death by his two grandfathers, Richard D. Sourbrine and Kenneth Cook Blasdel. He will be greatly missed by all. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to everyone that has been so supportive through this difficult time. Funeral service will be Saturday, July 11, 2015 at 2 PM at Redmon Funeral Home, 3633 Darrow Rd, Stow, Ohio, where friends may call from 11 AM until service time.
