Obituary of John W. Miner

John W. “Bill” Miner, 68, of Stow, OH passed away on July 3, 2015 at his home surrounded by his family after a brave battle with cancer. He was born in Reader, WV to William and Flo Miner on Oct. 17, 1946. He graduated from South-east High in 1964 and went on to earn a business degree from Boheckers Business College. He enjoyed 24 years as Secretary and Treasurer for Keller Electric, and retired after 18 years as Bond Manager for McGowan Insurance. He was an honorable Army Veteran and member of the VFW Post 3703. Golf, bowling, poker, and making his family laugh were part of his favorite pastimes. He is deeply missed by his loving wife of 42 years, Andrea, son Ed (Vicki) Miner, daughter Sharon (Scott) Hillman, sister Patricia Miner, brother Richard (Linda) Miner, grand-children, Taylor, Brooklyn and Bristol Hillman and many more relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother David Miner, sisters Ruth Macchiarola, and Sue Fellows. Friends and family are invited to a casual Celebration of Life ceremony, officiated by David Macchiarola, at SYB Hall 4157 Hudson Dr, Stow, OH 44224 on July 19th from 2-5 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hillcrest Cancer Center, c/o Mike Garlisi/ Patient Care Fund, 6780 Mayfield Rd., Mayfield Heights, OH 44124 or the Hospice of the Western Reserve, 17876 St. Clair Ave., Cleveland, OH 44110-9915.
