Obituary of Charles R Wilhelm
Charles Raymond (Charlie) Wilhelm, 82, passed away on Wednesday, July 22 after a courageous battle with cancer. Charlie was born in Layton, Pa, and was preceded in death by grandma Bessie Ryan and Uncle Doc Ryan; parents Frank and Agnes, brother Dan and son Craig Livingston.
He graduated from Frazier High School, playing high school sports year-round. In service to his country, Charlie enlisted in the United States Air Force serving from 1953-1957.
Charlie married the love of his life, Margie, in 1962 and then moved to northeast Ohio. Charlie began working at the Chrysler Stamping Plant in Twinsburg, retiring 30 years later, as a journeyman millwright. After retirement, Charlie enjoyed 17 years of playing softball with the Silver League of Akron. In addition, Charlie’s love of sports was reflected in his loyalty to the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pittsburgh Pirates. Weekday mornings, Charlie could be found enjoying a cup of decaf coffee with his friends. A tradition that began at Krispy Kreme, moved to McDonalds and settled at Arby’s.
