Obituary of Dana E Epple Huntley
Dana Everett Epple Huntley, 38, of Akron passed away Tuesday September 1, 2015.
He was born on November 21, 1976 in Ravenna. He will be deeply missed by everyone whose life he touched. His endearing laugh was infectious.
Dana is survived by his Mother, Patricia Huntley-Biltz (Norm) of Silver Lakes, Brother, Bob Huntley (Karen) of Medina, Sister, Chris Parker (Bill) of Lodi, Sister, Charlotte Katzenmoyer (Mike) of PA., Sister, Sheila Platte (Shane) of Columbus, Sister, Hope Buckle (Butch) of MD, Nieces and Nephews, Kaitie, Grace, Cole, Logan, Aminah, Amin, and Ali.
He was preceded in death by his Father, Rev. K. Dean Huntley and Brothers, Roger and Kenny Huntley.
Dana graduated from Cloverleaf High School in 1995 and Miami University with a BA of Music Performance in 2000. Dana was an investigator for the Cuyahoga County Board of Developmental Disabilities. He served as an Officer and Executive Board member for the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) District 1199 in WV, KY, and Ohio. He also served as an International Delegate, was the founding leader and chair of the social justice committee and co-chair of the Lavender Caucus for SEIU. Dana dedicated his life to serving others and was a voice for the underserved and underrepresented.
Friends may call Friday September 11, from 6-8 pm and Saturday September 12, from 10-11 am at the Riverwood Community Chapel in Kent, Ohio. A memorial service will be held September 12, from 11 am to noon at the Riverwood Community Chapel with a reception immediately following.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cuyahoga County Board of Developmental Disabilities 1275 Lakeside Ave, Cleveland Ohio 44114-1129.
