Obituary of Ted Elden Shuman

STOW- Ted E. Shuman, 90, went to be with Jesus, his Lord and Savior, November 27, 2015. Born in Akron, he was a Stow resident for 89 years, a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and founded Ted Shuman Plumbing in 1955, retiring in 1990. Mr. Shuman was a founding member of Stow Alliance Fellowship, a member of Suffield Fellowship Church, Stow Community Garden Club, Darrow Street Grange and the U.S. Submarine Vets of World War II. He also served as board member of CEF and member and past president of the Ohio PHCC. Preceded in death by his parents Kenneth and Gladys Shuman, and brothers Bud and Dave, he is survived by siblings, Kenneth, Ramona, Nancy and his wife of 69 years Arleen; children Teddy (Ron) Sawka of Japan, Becky (Mark) Bryan of Austria, Jim (Judy) of Hartville, Jack (Pat) of Stow, Pam (Claude) Vandevert of Erie, PA, Tim (Sandee) of Colorado Springs, CO, Tom (Esther) of Mogadore, Cheri (Paul) Burket of Maineville, OH and Michelle (Mark) Gulland of Madison, MS; 30 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren. Friends are invited to Redmon Funeral Home for visitation Friday 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM. Pastor Jim Shuman will conduct the celebration service Saturday 11 AM at Stow Alliance Fellowship Church, 4460 Stow Road, Stow, OH 44224, and where friends may call from 10 AM until service time. Burial Silver Springs Cemetery with military honors provided by the U.S. Navy.
