Obituary of Ronald W. Pitts

Ronald W. “Bill” Pitts passed away on Wednesday, December 23, 2015. Bill was born April 28, 1934 in Woodsfield, Ohio. Bill graduated from South High School in Akron in 1954 and retired from General Motors Acceptance Corporation in 1991 after 35 years of service. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved boating, hunting and fishing. He was a wonderful teacher and a great storyteller; his wisdom and brutely honest advice will be greatly missed by his children and grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Leander M. Pitts and Ora Pitts (Tuescher); seven siblings and an infant son, he leaves behind his wife of 58 years, Daneen (Imhoff) Pitts; sons, Martin (Diane) Pitts and Bruce Pitts; daughter, Lynn Ann (Randy) Downs; grandchildren, William Pitts, Renee Pitts, Brian Downs, and Kathryn Downs; great-grandson, Chase Pitts; brother, Peter (Connie) Pierce; brother-in-law, Robert (Dorothy) Imhoff; sister-in-law, Cher (Rob) Muirhead; special friends, Ceatris, Cindy, Dawn, Jackie and Lucinda; many dear friends and nieces and nephews who adored their “Uncle Bill”. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 2, 2016, at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, 2121 Sixth Street, Cuyahoga Falls, at 11:00 a.m., Pastor James Case officiating. Friends may call from 10 AM until service time. In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial in Bill’s name to the Special Olympics, OpenM, or Hospice of Summa.
