Obituary of Bruce Lynn Creager

Bruce L. Creager, 67, of Kent, Ohio, passed away on January 13, 2016 surrounded by his loved ones at home. Bruce was born in Akron, Ohio to Keith and Alberta on July 4, 1948. He went to Buchtel High School and graduated in 1967. He went on to earn a Bachelor of Science in Physics from the University of Akron. He worked as a copy repairman/systems analyst for Xerox Corporation for 30 years and as a systems analyst for Ricoh Corporation for 14 years. He enjoyed playing his guitar, making people laugh, fixing things, and most of all his kids and grandkids. Bruce is survived by his wife, Darlene. He is also survived by his daughter, Kim (Jay) Smith of Stow; son, Keith of Akron; five grandchildren, Haley Smith of Portland, Oregon, Nykell Smith of Stow, Brooke Smith of Stow, Aiden Creager and Allie Creager both of Akron; brother, Albert of Garrettsville; and sister, Barbara of Malvern. Bruce was predeceased by his parents. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Akron General Visiting Nurse Service, Hospice Care. Friends are invited to Redmon Funeral Home in Stow for visitation Friday, January 15 from 4 to 7 PM. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 16 at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church at 11:00 AM with the Rev. Eric Tritten officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park in Fairlawn, Ohio. Memorial donations may be made to Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, 2113 Ravenna Street, Hudson, Ohio 44236.
