Andreas Diamantopoulos

Obituary of Andreas I Diamantopoulos

STOW- Andreas Ioannis Diamantopoulos, 21, passed away February 28, 2016. At 3 years old, Andreas brought faith in to my life. We had just buried his oldest brother. He told me “Leon is not dead, he is waiting in a special place. He is surrounded by lights, but there are no light bulbs.” I knew he had that vision and now he is surrounded by those lights He was our gift for 21 years. He excelled in academics and received a four year academic scholarship to Kent State University. He was a great athlete and great loving, funny person. Addiction took his life but that does not define him. He was our baby son and baby brother and always loved. Preceded in death by his grandparents Richard G. Hughes, Carol Douglas and Fotis Diamantopoulos, he is survived by his father Ioannis Diamantopoulos and mother Jennifer (Stuart) Smith; siblings Fotis (Trish), Loren (Meagan), Kristina, Michael Bragg, Carissa Dean, Themeterios, Niko (Lauren Cozart) and Melinda Miller; grandparents Sharon Hughes and Sophia Marnezos; step-siblings Stuart (Lauren) Smith and Cassie (Patrick) Jebber; aunts and uncles Richard (Jackie) Hughes, Greg (Shirley) Hughes, Mark (Jill) Hughes and Dawn (Paul) Davet; many nieces, nephews and cousins and best friend Jacob.
