Obituary of Janet Lynn Budai
Janet Lynn Budai, 66 passed away on March 23, 2016. Born April 19, 1949 in Detroit, MI to Margaret and Howard Palmer, she moved to Akron in 1960 and married David Budai June 17, 1972. They were a couple for over 49 years. She received her Bachelor’s of Education degree from the University of Akron in 1971.
After raising her two daughters, Kristin and Kathryn, she returned to teaching and served as a teacher’s aide for the multiple handicapped children in the Kent School System for 23 years. She was as committed to her students as she was to her own children and truly enjoyed the challenging work.
She enjoyed cross stitch work and handicrafts and has left behind many treasured and personalized pieces. She also enjoyed gardening, cooking, reading, and her daily walks. She rarely missed a softball game or swim meet that her children participated in and continued that same support for her grandkids. She was extremely devoted to her family and nothing made her happier than to see them grow and succeed.
She is survived by her husband David, mother Margaret, daughters Kristin (Lee) Rawlette and Kathryn (Mark) Walters, and grandchildren Madison, Alyssa, and Adam Walters and Ty and Cody Rawlette. She was preceded in death by her father Howard and brothers Gerald and Kenneth Palmer. She is looking forward to her reunion with them and with her beloved pets.
