Obituary of Ronald James Kennedy

STOW – Ronald “Ron” James Kennedy, 69, passed away April 8, 2016. Born in Akron, Ron graduated from Garfield High School; proudly served his country in the National Guard; and retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber, Stow Mold Plant after 30 years of service. Ron enjoyed going to the beach, his gun and coin collections, attending flea markets and car shows, and breakfasts with his fellow Goodyear retirees. Ron was a Certified Criminal Justice Specialist as well as a Certified Chemical Dependency Counselor at Oriana House. Preceded in death by his parents, James W. and Helen Kennedy, he is survived by his daughters, Michelle and Melony; grandchildren, Ashley, Taylor, Bailey and Jason; brother James R. Kennedy; nephews, James P. and Andrew; uncle, Stan and aunt, Lou Kennedy; and special friends, Danny and Samantha Foglio. Pastor Mike Shaub will conduct a funeral service Thursday, April 14, 2016 at 1 PM at Redmon Funeral Home, 3633 Darrow Rd., Stow, and where friends may call from 11 AM until service time. Entombment to follow at Northlawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Pawsibilities Humane Society of Greater Akron.
