Obituary of Stanley J. Lero

SILVER LAKE – Stanley Joseph Lero, 93, passed peacefully surrounded by his family April 11, 2016. Born in Oswego, NY, he was a Captain in the United States Army during World War II, attended Syracuse University in the Army ROTC Program and received his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from The University of Akron in 1949. He earned his Professional Engineers License in 1957. Mr. Lero realized his dream co-founding Lero and Markwald Engineers in Akron, Ohio that later became Lero and Rollence Engineers evolving to the now current Lero, Rollence & Moinette Incorporated. In business over 59 years (Founded October 12, 1956), Mr. Lero strived to provide “Superior Value through Quality Engineering” to Akron Rubber Companies, Hospitals, Universities and Clients around the world. He truly believed that the best products and services that could be obtained anywhere in the world were made right here in the United States of America! A Silver Lake resident for over 50 years, Mr. Lero was a past president and member of the Cuyahoga Falls Rotary Club, a past member, deacon and elder of the United Presbyterian Church of Cuyahoga Falls, and was an instructor for Akron Adult Vocational Services and RSES. Mr. Lero was also a lifetime member of ASHRAE. He was known as a man of strong values like Faith in God, commitment to family, hard work and optimism. Consistently seeking to find the best in any situation that life had to offer, his signature comments “any better I’d be twins” or “C.B.A.B.U.T.E.C.” truly told the whole story on his outlook on life. His generosity, kindness and sense of humor were enjoyed by all who knew him. Mr. Lero had an incredible love for his wife, his family, his business, his employees and the United States of America. He was one of those men you would meet and could never forget. He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Marjorie; children Candice Wilcoxson, Alyssa (Frank) Bell, Stanley II (Cami), and Tim (Diane); grandchildren Chris (Kristin) Wilcoxson, MSG. Eric (Jeny) Wilcoxson, Courtney (Jeff) Gonser, Cara (Chris) Beatty, Amy (Ed) Ostrum, Nikita Lero, Stanley “Joe” Lero III, Alejandro “Alex” Rivera, Victoria “Tori” Lero and Kevin Lero; great-grandchildren Jack, Max, Isabella, Brody, Olivia, Samuel, Tyler, Jay and Payton. The family extends heartfelt appreciation to the owner, management and nursing Staff at the Gardens of Western Reserve in Cuyahoga Falls and the nursing staff from the Gardens of Western Reserve Hospice for their respectful, compassionate and loving care of Mr. Lero and his family. Friends are invited to Redmon Funeral Home for visitation on Sunday April 17th from 5 to 8 pm and Monday April 18th from 9:30 to 10:15 am, where service conducted by Rev. Bob Stanley will follow.
