Obituary of Bryan A. James

Bryan A. James, 72, died June 9, 2016. He was a resident of Hudson since 1978, an avid golfer, enjoyed working out with his friends at Life Center Plus and enjoyed painting and drawing. Bryan was a diehard Cleveland sports fan, motivational speaker, lifelong magician, jokester and comedian. Bryan spent 31 years in the health care industry and had retired from Qual Choice Health Plan as Vice President of sales and advertising. He was Past President of the Board of Trustees, Epilepsy Assoc. of Cleveland and a Lifetime Honorary Member of the same. He was also the recipient of the “Epilepsy Legacy Award” in 2004. He was a member of the Mensa Society and a published author of “Parable of the Homemade Millionaire” (internationally distributed and read); and “The Millionaire’s Message.” He was preceded in death by his parents Jack and Ruth James, spouse Karen (Lavanish) James and sister Janet (Phelps) Plantz. Bryan is survived by his wife Jeanne M. James (Pekarik); children; Lisa (James) Hibbs, grandchildren; Caden Hibbs and Maya Hibbs, Laura James, brother Richard (Cora) James and many nephews, nieces, cousins and wonderful friends. Friends and family will greatly miss his wonderful sense of humor, kindness, sage advice, and all the other wonderful qualities that so endeared him to many. Friends are invited to the Redmon Funeral Home for visitation Sunday from 1 to 3 and 5 to 7 PM, where service will be conducted TUESDAY 10 am. Interment Crown Hill Burial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Epilepsy Association of Cleveland, Ohio or to Akron General Hospice of Visiting Nurse Service.
