Obituary of Norman B. Miller

UNIONTOWN - Norman B. Miller, 86, died June 26, 2016. Norm was born January 23, 1930 in Akron to William and Esther Miller. He graduated from North High School in 1948 where he was voted Most Versatile Athlete. As a young man, Norm worked as a caddy at Portage Country Club where he developed his life-long love for the game of golf. An exceptional golfer, Norm earned many local golf awards including the title of Low Amateur in the 1957 Rubber City Open. Norm had a deep and committed love for his wife of 60 years, Patricia. Together they raised their family in Cuyahoga Falls and eventually moved to Green. In 1990 Norm retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company, but continued to play golf and passionately follow the Indians, Cavs, and Browns. He loved spending time with his family and was especially proud of his four grandchildren. Norm is survived by his wife, Patricia; daughters, Valerie Bonacci (Fred) of Stow and Vicki Clark (Doug) of Tyler, TX; grandchildren, Kyle Bonacci, Colleen Bonacci, Micah Clark, and Chelsea Clark; and brothers, Richard Miller of New Bern, NC and Donald Miller of Uniontown, OH. The family invites you to join them for a celebration of Norm’s life and his hope in Christ on Thursday, June 30 at 2:00 pm at Redmon Funeral Home, 3633 Darrow Rd., Stow, Ohio with Pastor Doug Clark officiating. Family will receive friends immediately following. Private burial at Crown Hill Cemetery.
