Obituary of Scott J. Stanley

STOW - Scott Joseph Stanley, 56, passed away on August 21 at home after a long illness. Scott was born on July 24, 1960 in Aberdeen, South Dakota. Scott attended Holy Family School, graduated from Stow High School in 1979 and was employed as a specialty mover with Berger/Allied. Nothing made Scott happier than the children in his life. He loved attending their sporting events, teaching them how to laugh and that nothing else mattered unless you were happy. He has been described by a niece as “one of the greatest men in my life and I’m thankful for having him as an uncle.” Even in his darkest times, his sense of humor and outlook on life kept the rest of the family positive. He is proceeded in death by his parents, Robert and Amy Stanley; and brothers, Dean and John Stanley. He is survived by his beloved son, Scott, who he was very proud of; and his 6 siblings, Sandra (Warren) Stauffer, Kenneth (Glenda) Stanley, Amy (Clint) Fier, Robin (Steve) Rogness, Jennifer (Robert) Vober, and Michael Stanley. Also surviving him are numerous nieces and nephews who loved him very much. Scott was cared for by the wonderful doctors and nurses at the Cleveland Clinic, especially Dr. Miriam Jacob and Dr. Krista Dobbie; and nurses, Tracey and Kim. The family is so thankful for their outstanding care and concern for Scott. Friends are invited to Redmon Funeral Home for visitation Thursday, August 25 from 5 to 8 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday at 12 Noon at Holy Family Catholic Church with Father Kevin Klonowski Celebrant. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.
