Obituary of Jean A. Pekar

CUYAHOGA FALLS – Jean A. Pekar, 93, passed on December 2, 2016 and will be with her husband Richard for Christmas. Born April 26, 1923 in Cuyahoga Falls, she was a Falls High graduate, worked for Firestone in the 1940s building pistons and for O’Neil’s Department Store in the 1960s in jewelry sales. Jean loved gardening, bowling with friends and laughing, and was a member of Bethany United Church of Christ. Jean dedicated her life to her family and brought a smile to all she met. She will be dearly missed. Preceded in death by her husband Richard in 1995, she is survived by her daughter Phyllis (Tom) Gager; son Michael Pekar; grandchildren Daniel (Angie) and Kelly (Todd), and great-grandchildren Nathan and Ryan. Rev. Steven Welker will conduct service Wednesday 11 AM at Redmon Funeral Home, where friends may call from 10 AM until service time. Burial Chestnut Hill. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bethany United Church of Christ, 1235 Broad Blvd., Cuyahoga Falls 44223 or to Concordia of Sumner, Activities Dept., 970 Sumner Pkwy., Copley 44321.
