Obituary of Ryan Collins

George Ryan Collins IV, 38, passed away Thursday, December 8th, 2016. He was born April 23, 1978 to George and Janice Collins in Akron, Ohio and lived in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio for most of his life. Ryan is survived by his parents, brothers David Collins and Joey Collins, grandmother Lillian (Hanna) Shaheen, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and close friends. Ryan graduated from Cuyahoga Falls High School, earned a Bachelor's of Business Administration, and was attending Stark State College where he was studying social work and chemical dependency counseling. He was consistently on the President's List and was a semester away from graduating. Ryan will be remembered as a kind, generous, loving son, brother, and friend. In the past, he struggled with heroin addiction, but had been clean and sober for nearly three years. Ryan was a graduate of Turning Point and later became an advocate for the community outreach program against heroin, where he worked closely with judges, law enforcement, and prosecutors. Ryan was an inspiration and touched the lives of so many people in recovery. Calling hours will be held at Redmon Funeral Home (3633 Darrow Rd, Stow) on Friday, December 16th from 5pm to 9pm. The funeral service will be held at Redmon Funeral Home on Saturday, December 17th at 10am, Rev. David Fisher of Relentless Church officiating. Interment at Oakwood Cemetery in Cuyahoga Falls following services. To honor Ryan and his dedication to community outreach and recovery from addiction, the family requests that memorials be made in his name to Hope is Alive (Uniontown, OH) or Interval Brotherhood Home (Akron, OH).
