Patsy Tennant

Obituary of Patsy P. Tennant

Patsy Pauline Tennant passed away peacefully in her home on January 18, 2017, at the age of 90. Patsy was born on April 27, 1926, in Monongalia County across the river from Morgantown, WV, in her grandmother’s home to Paul and Hazel Huffman. She was a graduate of University High School in Morgantown where she sang in a quartet, performing live on the radio and in the area. Her singing was a special gift her children enjoyed hearing throughout their childhood. Early in life she worked as a waitress, drove bus for Nordonia Schools, volunteered as a Pink Lady for Akron City Hospital and taught Sunday school. Patsy and her husband, of 72 years, enjoyed many years dancing, through the Arthur Murray School of Dancing. Her most successful accomplishments were as homemaker, mother and grandmother. Her hobbies included blackberry picking and making cobbler, gardening, knitting with her Knit Wit friends at Silver Lake Towers and living vicariously through her children. With two of her children living out of state, she was able to fulfill her dream of traveling, by car, plane, train and Alaskan Cruise. And when at home, shared her compassionate spirit with grandchildren in their early years and beyond. Besides her parents, Patsy was preceded in death by her brother, Eugene (Mike) Huffman. Patsy will be deeply missed by her husband of 72 years, Denzil Tennant, her children: Gary Tennant, Dan Tennant (Victoria), Mikel Tennant, and Pat Hoaglin (Mark); grandchildren Dana Brauns (Norm), Dan Hoaglin (Jenna), and Jena Edwards (Paul), great granddaughter, Hayden and baby Edwards on the way. Patsy will always be known for her unconditional love for family and mankind. She came as an angel into our lives and will now bless heaven with her return.
