Carroll was the only uncle the Lohrstorfer children were blessed with. He was a man filled with faith, humor, goodwill, and devotion to family. It is impossible to adequately express the love and appreciation we have for him and the positive influence he had on us. While he lived states away from us, he was always close in spirit, and made when he was in town, he made a point to come to our house and visit with his sister, Joyce, and our father, Charles. There was a deep, special loving bond among them. I had the pleasure of speaking with Carroll on Christmas Eve. During that telephone conversation, he told me with firm conviction that his best days lay before him, and he had plans for things he still wanted to accomplish. As always, he spoke with deep faith and shared with me verses from the Bible that were relevant to the topics were discussed. I will always hold that discussion deep in my heart. Although he did not disclose the details of his plan, I am confident that he is not disappointed that they were not accomplished. I am confident because he has reached his ultimate goal of being with Jesus. I am praying for his immediate and extended family at this time of loss for us all of us. For Carroll, there is no loss. It is all gain as he is now with Jesus Christ in the company and his loved ones who have passed. Philippians 3:8-9.
