Obituary of Joseph John Winkler, Jr.

CUYAHOGA FALLS - Joseph John  “Joey” Winkler, Jr., 15, died February 25, 2017. Born in Akron, he was currently a freshman at Cuyahoga Falls High School.  Joey was a kind, caring person with a loving heart, and always had a smile on his face. He played baseball and football when he was younger and later became involved with the Bath-Richfield Fire Explorer Post 2542 and always enjoyed hanging out at the different fire stations. He then fell in love playing Airsoft and made many friends in the Airsoft community. At a young age, he developed a passion for the military and was planning to join the Marine Corps after he graduated.  He is survived by his parents, Joseph and Melissa; sister Brianna; grandparents Ron and Jackie Winkler of Cuyahoga Falls and Lorene and Del Hudnall of West Virginia; uncle and aunt Ron and Kelly Winkler, uncle Ken Hudnall and cousins Nick, Carly, and Carrie Winkler. Friends are invited to Redmon Funeral Home for visitation Thursday 4 to 8 PM.  Mass of the Christian Burial Friday 11 AM at St. Eugene Catholic Church, 1821 Munroe Falls Avenue, Cuyahoga Falls  44221. Burial Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Paddle 4 Troops, 322 Oceanaire Lane, Surf City, NC 28445, Attn: Dwight Torres.  One hundred percent (100%) of your donation will be used to support and benefit our veterans.
