Obituary of Irene Desko
STOW - Born Irene McClosky on November 28, 1927 to Julius and Clementina McClosky in Bethel Park, PA, she lived there until she married Ben Desko in 1950, and lived in Cuyahoga Falls until moving to Stow in 1961. A long-time member of Holy Family Parish, Irene worked at the Ben Franklin Store and served as manager until it closed in the late '80s. She enjoyed gardening, canning, cooking, walking, and was always there to help others in need. Irene was a current member of the Stow Sunshiners.
Preceded in death by her parents, her sister Stella Roman, and brothers Charles, Theodore, Anthony, and Edward McClosky. In addition to her husband of 66 years, she is survived by her daughters Patricia Labadie (Larry), Tina Romeo (Edward), Janet Tuiskula (Warren), six grandchildren, one great-granddaughter, and nieces and nephews.
Father Paul Rosing will conduct service Thursday 1:30 PM at Redmon Funeral Home, where friends may call from 11:30 AM until service time. Burial Stow Cemetery.
