Obituary of Wayne T. Westover

Wayne T. Westover, 83, died March 27, 2017. Born in Akron, he was a lifetime area resident, and a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean War. Wayne had been employed with Admiral Equipment and Linden Industries and was a longtime active member of Riverside Alliance Church. A gospel music and NASCAR fan, he also found great joy in cars and especially Farmall tractors. Preceded in death by his daughters, Veronica Burkadt and Janel Gaylord, brother, Bernard and sister, Cheryl Toth, he is survived by his wife of 62 years, Claudia; sons Ted (Cindy) and Robert; daughters Claudia and Evelyn (David) Butcher; many grand and great-grandchildren; sisters JoAnn (Ken) Merchant, and special friends Joe and Lisa Rogers. Friends are invited to Redmon Funeral Home for visitation Friday 4 to 8 PM, where Rev. Don Carr will conduct service Saturday 12 noon. Visitation will also be held on Saturday from 11 AM until service time. Burial Silver Springs Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude or the USO.
