Obituary of Margaret D. Palmer

Margaret D. Palmer, 93, went home to be with the Lord and her family on April 14, 2017. Born on April 19, 1923 in Ann Arbor, Michigan to Richard and Edith D’Eath, her family moved to Detroit and then to Philadelphia, PA where she graduated from William Penn High School. Following graduation, she returned to Detroit with her family where she met her future husband, Howard Palmer, at the Vanity Ball Room. Their romance blossomed and they were married in 1943. They moved to Akron, Ohio in 1960 and spent the rest of their lives here. Margaret worked briefly for Chrysler Corporation before becoming a full-time housewife raising three children and supporting her husband’s career. She enjoyed reading, collecting figurines, and knew all about local birds and trees. She enjoyed her many years at their weekend retreat, Evergreen Acres in Carrollton, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and three children, Kenneth, Janet Budai, and Gerald; brothers Albert and George; sister Dorothy and identical twin Mary. She is survived by her son-in-law David Budai; four grandchildren, Kristin (Lee) Rawlette, Kathryn (Mark) Walters, Victoria and Kathryn Palmer; five great-grandchildren Madison, Alyssa and Adam Walters and Ty and Cody Rawlette. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, April 25th at 11 AM in the Historical Chapel at The Bath Church, 3980 W. Bath Rd. with Rev. Maureen Webber officiating. Friends may call at the Church one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Humane Society of Summit County, 7996 Darrow Rd. #30, Twinsburg, Ohio 44087.
