Obituary of Leonard A. Russo
SILVER LAKE – Leonard A. Russo, 90, passed away May 3, 2017.
Born in Akron, Leonard was a lifetime area resident. Leonard proudly served his country in the U.S. Coast Guard during WWII. After his marriage to Nettie, Leonard owned and operated a grocery store and later a dry-cleaning business until his retirement. In his spare time, he loved dancing, bowling and playing poker.
Preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Lucy Russo; his wife of 55 years, Nettie; sister, Angie Massaro; and nephew, Ronald Massaro; he is survived by nephews, Michael and Mark Massaro, niece, Alisa Getzinger; his companion of six years, Jean Lacreta; and many other loving family and friends.
Friends are invited to Redmon Funeral Home for visitation on Sunday, May 7, 2017 from 2 to 5 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Family Catholic Church, 3179 Kent Road, Stow on Monday, May 8 at 10 AM with Father Paul Rosing as celebrant. Burial to follow at Chestnut Hill Memorial Park with full military honors provided by Charles Faust American Legion Post 281.
