Obituary of Robert C. Schray

Robert (Bob) Carl Schray passed away June 4th at Akron General Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Bob was born June 29, 1935 to Carl & Ella (Goins) Schray in Akron, Ohio. Bob graduated Cuyahoga Falls High School and earned his pharmacy degree from Ohio Northern University. He was preceded in death by his parents. Bob is survived by his wife of 52 years, Barbara; siblings, Rodger, Dick (Michelle), Debbie (Jerry) Jacobs; sons, Todd (Alex) and Grant (Stefanie); grandchildren, Andrew, Lydia, Spencer, Mitchell, and Michael. Bob owned Brooklands Pharmacy in Akron for several years in the late 60s & early 70s. Then, he hired on with FW Albrecht groceries as a retail pharmacist where he worked for 30 years. An avid motorsports fan, Bob went to the Indy 500 for 50+ straight years. Later in life, Bob found a passion for flying, and became a private pilot. Bob was a member of the Church (of Christ) in the Falls and an elder there for many years. Bob, along with his wife, spread the ministry through their many travels at home and abroad. Family and friends may call on Sunday, June 11, at 1pm at the Church (of Christ) in the Falls at 837 Chestnut Blvd in Cuyahoga Falls, with a service celebrating his life to follow at 2pm. Burial will be Monday, June 12, at 10am at the Northlawn Cemetary. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Church (of Christ) in the Falls or to the Akron Post-Polio Support Group (c/o Brenda Ferguson, 71 Donve Ct, Tallmadge OH 44278).
