Obituary of Alfred M. Rose

ALFRED “Al” M. ROSE 

STOW – Alfred “Al” M. Rose, 80, passed away July 16, 2017 after an extended illness. 

Al was born in Bedford, PA where he grew up on a farm. After high school, he moved to Ohio and attended Youngstown State University and married his high school sweetheart. Al was a wonderful family man who adored his grandchildren with the light of his life being his great-grandson. Al enjoyed gardening, flowers, music, and played many instruments. Al was well known for his great sense of humor and sharp, funny wit. Al retired from SGS Tool with 25 years of service.   

Preceded in death by his brothers, Paul and Lee Rose, Al is survived by his wife of 61 years, Catherine “Kay”; children, Sharon (Brian) Logue, Sue Rose-Thomas (Jerry), Allyn (Phyllis) Rose; five grandchildren, one great-grandchild; and sister, Ruth Ann Paull. 

Friends are invited for calling hours Wednesday, July 19, 2017 from 6 to 8 PM at Redmon Funeral Home, 3633 Darrow Road, Stow, where Father Mike Ausperk will conduct a funeral service on Thursday at 11 AM. Burial to follow at Silver Springs Cemetery. In Al’s memory, memorials may be made to Holy Family Catholic Church.
