Scott Dillon

Obituary of Scott L. Dillon

Scott Louis (Opie) Dillon, 54, of Munroe Falls, OH, passed away on July 24, 2017 after a strong and brave fight against cancer.

Scott was born in Akron, OH, on May 5, 1963. He graduated from Lake High School in 1981. A life-long public servant, Scott was a volunteer and full-time firefighter (Plain Twp., Brecksville VA), his first police commission was in Beach City OH, and he worked 18 years as a police officer at The MetroHealth System in Cleveland.  Scott founded Rights for Fathers Who Care and Fresh Hope for a Cure. He was also an avid supporter of Firefighter Cancer Support Network. Scott enjoyed NASCAR, the outdoors, practical jokes, and collecting police patches. Most importantly, Scott loved his family and children. During childhood, Scott accepted Jesus Christ as his personal savior.  It was his wish to be re-baptized with his sons on July 23.

Scott is survived by his loving wife Deborah; children Joshua (Ashley), Nicholas, Zachary Wooten, Bridget Miller (Tyler), and Faith; parents Robert and Judith; sister Michele Moncrief (Paul); grandson Brody; and nieces Adrienne and Alexis Moncrief.
