Obituary of Carl L May
SEBRING, FL - Carl L. May, 95, formerly of Stow, OH, passed away on August 28, 2017, at Tradition Medical Center in Port St. Lucie, FL, following a lengthy illness.
Born 1921, in Akron, Ohio, he was a retired mail carrier from the North Hill post office in Akron, Ohio and a former active member of First Christian Church of Stow.
A World War ll veteran and Purple Heart recipient, Carl served in the 30th Division, 105TH unit in the European Theater of Operations from November 1942 to October 1945.
He loved life. Over the years he enjoyed time with family, traveling, nature, socializing with friends, golfing, and was an excellent bowler.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Edna May, and loving wife of 61 years, Betty A. May. Survived by Nancy May, (spouse), of Sebring, FL; daughters and sons-in-law, Cindi (Randy) Bacon of Columbus, Ohio, Christine (Curt) Fabris of Port St. Lucie, FL, Meri Glatzer of Cuyahoga Falls, OH; son and daughter-in-law, Robert (Debbie) May of Stow, OH; 11 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. He loved each one dearly.
Friends may call at the Redmon Funeral Home on Tuesday, Sept 5 from 12 to 1 PM. Funeral service will immediately follow at 1 PM, officiated by Rev. Johnathan Rumburg. Burial held at Tallmadge Cemetery at 2:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or Treasure Coast Hospice Foundation.
