Obituary of Raymond L Cook
Raymond L. Cook, age 91, a man who loved God, went to his eternal home Friday, September 1, 2017.
A son of the late Raymond and Dessie Cook, he was born July 29, 1926 in Akron. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and worked in the chemical division of Goodyear, retiring in 1986. Raymond was a 50-year member of the First Presbyterian Church of Akron. He was a man of faith, strength, loyalty, honor, and most of all, love. Raymond was a kind, gentle and caring husband, father and grandfather, a committed church man, honorable neighbor, and friend. A man of many talents, Raymond liked to work with both his head and hands. He could do anything. He truly lived life to the fullest.
He is survived by his wife Carolyn Cook, who mourns the loss of her best friend and love of her life; three sons, David Cook, Robert (Traudy) Cook, and James (Cheryl) Cook. Raymond also leaves behind six grandchildren; Derek Cook, Brian Cook, Jesse Cook, Eddie Cook, Neil Cook and Julia Cook, and several great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Raymond is preceded in death by Donna Jean, his first wife and mother of their three sons.
